Description of Sillimanite Brick
Sillimanite refractory bricks are made from sillimanite, quartz, and other minerals through calcination or casting. Their alumina content is as high as 62%. They are a special type of high-alumina refractory brick. Their physical and chemical properties are superior to those of high alumina refractory bricks. Therefore, they are an important refractory material for the construction of industrial kilns and other high-temperature equipment.

Application of Sillimanite Brick
Sillimanite bricks find wide application in multiple high – temperature industrial scenarios. In glass – melting furnaces, they line the inner walls, enduring the high – temperature glass melts and the corrosive atmosphere. In ceramic kilns, they help maintain stable heat conditions during firing, ensuring product quality. They are also used in steel – making furnaces, protecting the furnace body from high – temperature slag and molten steel corrosion, thus extending the service life of the equipment.
Advantages of Sillimanite Brick
1.High Refractoriness: Can withstand high temperatures up to 1650 – 1750°C. 2.Good Thermal Shock Resistance: Resist sudden temperature changes without cracking easily. 3.Low Thermal Conductivity: Effectively reduce heat loss, saving energy. 4.High Chemical Stability: Resist corrosion from various slags and gases. 5.High Mechanical Strength: Have excellent compressive and flexural strength, ensuring long service life.
