Applications of CA50 A700 Refractory Cement

CA50 A700 refractory cement is a high-alumina binder made from bauxite and limestone. Its core application is as a bonding system for formulating high-performance monolithic refractories. Compared to ordinary building cement, it imparts superior volume stability and mechanical properties to refractories at high temperatures.

Its main applications are concentrated in the following areas:

1. Formulation of Low-Cement and Ultra-Low-Cement Castables

This is the most crucial application of CA50 A700. Due to its high purity and low impurity (such as Fe₂O₃) content, it is ideal for formulating low-cement series castables with low water content and dense structure. These castables are widely used in the permanent and working linings of steel ladles in the steel industry, the wrapping of water-cooled pipes in heating furnaces, the linings of induction furnaces in the non-ferrous metals industry, and the wear-resistant layers of catalytic cracking units in the petrochemical industry. Compared to traditional high-cement castables, it significantly improves medium- and high-temperature strength and resistance to slag erosion.

2. Fabrication of Refractory Precast Components and Repair Materials

This cement is often formulated with various high-quality aggregates (such as corundum, bauxite, and mullite) for factory prefabrication of refractory precast components, such as permeable bricks for steel ladles, kiln burners, and straight sections of cyclone separators. It is also used to formulate quick-drying explosion-proof repair materials for rapid hot or cold repair of localized damage to kiln linings, shortening downtime.

3. Building Materials and General Industrial Kilns

In the building materials industry, it is used as a molding material for critical components such as the kiln inlet and pulverized coal injection pipes of cement rotary kilns; in the power industry, it is an ideal binder for circulating fluidized bed boiler linings, resisting material erosion; in addition, it is widely used in the casting and construction of linings for various heat treatment furnaces, incinerators, and gasifiers.

Precautions for Use:

Mixing is strictly prohibited: Absolutely do not mix with silicate cement (ordinary cement) or lime, otherwise it will lead to rapid setting and a significant decrease in strength.

Water and Curing: Use clean water for mixing. After molding, cure in a humid environment for at least 24 hours. Steam curing is prohibited.

Storage and Moisture Prevention: Cement is prone to hydration and failure; it must be stored in a dry place to prevent moisture absorption and clumping.
