Description of AZS Brick

Fused bricks, also known as fused zirconia corundum bricks, are abbreviated as AZS, which are arranged in the order of their content according to the three chemical components of the Al2O3-ZrO2-SiO2 ternary system phase diagram. AZS is abbreviated from “A” of Al2O3, “Z” of ZrO2 and “S” of SiO2, according to JC/T industry standard.For example, No. 33 fused zirconia corundum refractory brick is referred to as “AZS-33#”, No. 36 fused zirconia corundum refractory brick is referred to as “AZS-36#”, and No. 41 fused cast zirconia corundum refractory brick is referred to as “AZS-41#” .

AZS-33 has good corrosion resistance to liquid glass, is not easy to produce stones or other defects, and has low possibility of producing small bubbles. Therefore, AZS-33 bricks are widely used in glass kilns, mainly applicable to the upper structure of the melting pool, the pool wall bricks and paving bricks of the working pool, and the material channel.

In addition to having the same eutectic body as the AZS33 brick, AZS36 brick is suitable for areas with high liquid glass flow rate and high temperature, such as melting pool wall bricks, paving bricks, charging port bricks, etc., because of the increase of more interlocking zirconia crystals and the decrease of glass phase content.

AZS41 is the most excellent product in the melting and casting AZS series, with extremely high resistance to liquid glass corrosion and extremely high glass phase seepage temperature. It is widely used in key parts such as tank wall, feeding inlet corner, flow hole, kiln ridge, tank bottom bubbling and all electric melting furnace at the hot spot of glass furnace.

Advantages of AZS Brick

1. High Temperature Resistance

AZS bricks can withstand extremely high temperatures, usually exceeding 1700 degrees Celsius, even reaching more than 2000 degrees Celsius. This makes it ideal for working in high temperature environments.

3. High Softening Temperature

Zirconium products have high zirconia and alumina content, and sintered AZS bricks have low impurity content. The load softening temperature of aluminum-zirconium products can be above 1550-1650°C.

4. Strong Slag Resistance

The high content of A1203 in sintered AZS bricks makes it close to neutral refractory materials, so it can effectively resist the erosion of corrosive substances such as acidic slag and alkaline slag at high temperatures.

5. Good thermal shock stability

Kerui AZS bricks have excellent thermal shock stability. This means that it is able to reduce thermal stress and damage caused by thermal shock, maintaining structural integrity under rapid temperature changes.

6. High Strength

AZS bricks have high strength and can resist physical and mechanical stress. At the same time, it also has excellent wear resistance and can maintain its integrity and durability in high-temperature and pressure environments.

7. Low Permeability

AZS bricks have low permeability characteristics and can effectively resist the penetration of liquids and gases, ensuring their stability and significantly extending the service life of the equipment. This low penetration makes it a reliable choice.
