Se fabrica a partir de bauxita natural o al\u00famina industrial y carbonato c\u00e1lcico (piedra caliza) en una determinada proporci\u00f3n y se fabrica por calcinaci\u00f3n o fusi\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica, y tambi\u00e9n se fabrica fundiendo bauxita y piedra caliza.
